The Weisan Road Crossing River Tunnel Project is located 5km upstream of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, connecting Nanjing's main urban area in Nanjing with Pukou New Area in Jiangbei. The tunnel is constructed by the shield method, and the length of one tunnel is 4140m. The pit excavation area of the shield receiving end well is about 400m2, the perimeter of the pit is about 80m, the excavation depth is 29.5m, and the safety level of the side wall of the pit is Grade 1. The foundation pit adopts the underground continuous wall + internal support and support scheme, and the maximum depth of the underground continuous wall is 45m. In order to ensure the safety of the shield tunneling in and out of the tunnel, GFRP bars are used in the gate area to replace the steel bars.
